Trombonist, composer author and leader. An inspiration to every jazz musician in the world, beloved by those lucky enough to have known him.

Superb exciting, driving drummer. Worked with John Dankworth, Kurt Edelhagen, Tom Jones, Ronnie Scott, Stan Tracey,Tubby Hayes, Peter Herbolzheimer, Clarke/Boland and many more.

Jazz singer and wife of pianist Laurie Holloway

   

Ronnie Verrell

Much loved and respected drummer. Played for many years with the mighty Ted Heath orchestra, worked with singer Tom Jones, The Muppet Show, Jack Parnell's ATV orchestra and The Best of British Jazz.

   

Tony Crombie

Brilliant composer, greatly admired drummer. Known for his small group work and close association with Ronnie Scott. The eulogy is given by his friend, another educated man and talented drummer, Cecil 'Flash' Winstone.

 

Bert Courtley

Great jazz trumpet player. Married with Kathy Stobart; ran a successful jazz group with bassist Jack Seymour, the Courtley/Seymour Group.

 

Cyril Narbeth

Talented trumpet player; played with Tommy Sampson, Teddy Foster and others before returning to Coventry, where he ran his own big band for many years.

 

Eberhard Pokorny

Much loved valve trombonist and bandleader. Ran the band in Radio Saarbrucken for many years.

 

Ronnie Scott

Tenor saxophonist, bandleader and jazz club owner.Renowned for his great wit and dead-pan club announcements.
